Great TOAST weekend! Thanks for your visits!

A big thank you to everyone who came down to Tribeca on Fri., Sat. and Sun. and stopped by my studio for the art walk.
It was a great event. I was very pleased with the turnout and with the reception of my work, old and new. The" Inner Landscape Series" that I've been posting on this blog was very popular and well received. I sold work from the 90's as well as work from a few years ago and my latest work, including several Flower oil paintings and some of the Inner Landscapes, so that was wonderful to have my work go out into the world to be hung on people's walls where it will have new life! It was very gratifying to see the work disperse to be seen elsewhere.

All in all, I was very happy to see so many familiar loyal and supportive friends and family as well as many many enthusiastic people I had never met before. It's wonderful to see people taking the time to come down to Tribeca and engage with the work and meet the artists. Whoever says painting is dead needs to come to one of these events! I had some wonderful engaging and thought provoking conversations with visitors off the street who were serious, thoughtful and respectufl as well as curious. The great thing about an event like this for the artist, I find, is that I get a chance to talk to the public about my work and observe their engagement with it. Very different from having m work exhibited in a gallery, where a crowded opening is one's only chance to see the work and the viewer interacting...

I guess what I'm trying to express is the wonder of experiencing the work come alive and be part of a dialogue with the viewer and to engage in that dialogue too...

So thank you all for visiting and if you were unable to attend the event, please contact me to arrange for a private studio visit! I'm in the studio almost everyday and have flexible hours for visits...

I also welcome comments on this blog!
